Automation of a fitness club using QR codes – case study

STEELGYM is a modern gym in Zakopane that opened in 2023. The facility was founded by an experienced personal trainer and physique sports competitor. With the goal of creating a place where everyone can take care of their health and physical fitness at a time convenient for them, the owner of STEELGYM decided to open a fully unattended fitness club.

Why GYMMANAGER?

The business model of STEELGYM was to create an unattended sports facility with automatic access control. The most important requirement when choosing software was finding a system that enables comprehensive club management. GYMMANAGER provides all the functionalities necessary for such an investment.

Implemented solutions:

To provide clients with constant access to the club’s services without the need for a 24/7 reception desk, STEELGYM opted for full automation. The selected access control solution is a turnstile with QR code readers. Club members can purchase passes online via the Client Panel. Then, with an active membership, by scanning their generated personal QR code, they can independently enter the facility at any time.

The system is complemented by a dedicated mobile application, where clients can book spots for group classes organized at the gym and cancel reservations if they are unable to attend. Regular STEELGYM clients eagerly use features such as profile editing, browsing the class schedule, and signing up for group activities. New clients particularly appreciate the ability to quickly, conveniently, and independently create an account in the club via the mobile application.
